Alopecia - hair loss...is this what I have?

I recently have developed a bald patch on my head. I went to a doctor today, and he prescribed me with a anti-fungal lotion to apply to my scalp. Is this a common thing? I'm wondering how much of my hair is going to fall out? It makes me pretty nervous. Will it grow back? I am a 28 year old female. Please help if you've experienced something like this.Alopecia - hair loss...is this what I have?
You have a fungal infection on your scalp. Fungal infections are causing hair loss in patches. If untreated they can cause serious damage. But if you follow the prescriptions of your doctor you will treat the infection and your hair will grow back.

In case if the existing patch is growing in spite of the prescribed therapy, or you notice another patch go immediately to your doctor.

And this is not classical alopecia as men have. This is a temporary alopecia caused by fungal infection, and after treatment your hair will grow back.
